If the email addresses associated to the administrative, technical and billing contact are no longer valid or aren’t functioning, authorization is required from the Domain Name owner to change the information. The owner must login to The Pickaweb Domain Name Management Area which can be found at https://www.pickaweb.co.uk/cgi-bin/manage.cgi and change the email addresses for the administrative, technical and billing contact respectively.
If you do not have the login details & you do not have access to the listed contact email addresses you will be required to provide identification.
In order to change any details relating to your domain name please fax copies of the following identification:
Government issued, photographic ID such as passport or driving licence
and
An invoice/bill with your name & address showing at the top.
Please fax this to: 020 7863 4182

A domain name can be up to 63 characters (letters, numbers or combination) long plus the characters used to identify the domain extension (.com, .net, .org). The only symbol character domain names can include is a hyphen (-) although the domain name cannot start or end with a hyphen nor have consecutive hyphens. Symbols such as asterisks (*), under scores (_), and exclamation points (!) are not permitted.
If you are unsure you can search for your new domain name at https://www.pickaweb.co.uk/billing/order/orderwiz.php

Yes, You can just register the domain name and get a hosting service at a later stage.
When you wish to add the hosting or email & web forwarding service to your domain you can do so at the following link: https://www.pickaweb.co.uk/billing/order/orderwiz.php
Because you already have a domain name that you wish to use, please select the option: “I already have a domain name which I wish to use for the service. I will change the name servers”.
Please also register as an existing customer using your login details which were sent to you when you placed your order initially. If you do not have these details then you can use the forgotten password feature at the following link & they will be emailed to you: https://www.pickaweb.co.uk/billing

If a Domain Name is already registered, a WhoIs search will give you the details of whom it is registered to. If it is not registered no details will come up this it is an available registration. The Pickaweb Whois can be found at https://www.pickaweb.co.uk/cgi-bin/whois.cgi
If you are concerned about privacy & you do not wish to have your details published on the whois then it is possible to hide your details. With UK domain names (eg: .co.uk, .org.uk) you can select the confidentiality option via the Pickaweb Domain Name Management Area at https://www.pickaweb.co.uk/cgi-bin/manage.cgi
With US Domain names (eg. .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info) it is possible to order a Whois Privacy service. This costs £4.99 per domain name per year. This can be ordered at http://www.pickaweb.co.uk/addons2/select-form.htm
The Whois search will also show you some very useful information such as the Nameservers of the domain. Basically this helps you to identify which physical server your domain is hosted by. If you need to make changes to your domain name you can do this via the Pickaweb Domain Name Management Area at https://www.pickaweb.co.uk/cgi-bin/manage.cgi

Domain registry databases can take between 24-48 hours to be updated so even though your domain has been processed it may still show up on the WHOIS search as available.

It can be registered by the original registrant.
If you are not the owner of the domain name you will not be able to register it until it has been cancelled by the previous owner and it comes up as available on the search facility.

If a domain name has been detagged, the name servers associated with the domain name will be removed. Services associated with the domain name, for example web site hosting and email forwarding will stop working. Once a domain name is detagged, we will assume that the tag holder no longer has the registrant’s authority to act as its agent for the domain name.
You can contact Pickaweb to have your domain name retagged and move it into our system to activate it.

If your domain name has been detagged this is probably because you did not renew your domain name in time.
You can transfer the domain name to us and renew it by requesting to Nominet.org.uk the change of your IPS tag to TUCOWS-CA
Please let us know once that has been done by sending an email to us to support@pickaweb.co.uk and we will process a transfer in for your domain name into our system.
In future you will be able to manage your domain name through Pickaweb and also renew it at our prices.
