If the email addresses associated to the administrative, technical and billing contact are no longer valid or aren’t functioning, authorization is required from the Domain Name owner to change the information. The owner must login to The Pickaweb Domain Name Management Area which can be found at https://www.pickaweb.co.uk/cgi-bin/manage.cgi and change the email addresses for the administrative, technical and billing contact respectively.
If you do not have the login details & you do not have access to the listed contact email addresses you will be required to provide identification.
In order to change any details relating to your domain name please fax copies of the following identification:
Government issued, photographic ID such as passport or driving licence
and
An invoice/bill with your name & address showing at the top.
Please fax this to: 020 7863 4182
Alternatively you may scan & e-mail us at: accounts@pickaweb.co.uk

Yes. Once you’ve ordered the hosting package of your choice we will send you your full web hosting instructions. We will also send you the Nameserver (DNS) settings that you need to apply to your domain name. All you need to do is to login to your domain name & make these changes.
If your domain name is registered through Pickaweb then you can manage your domain name at https://www.pickaweb.co.uk/cgi-bin/manage.cgi - if you do not have your details please use the forgotten password feature & your domain name login details will be sent immediately to you.
If your domain name is not registered through Pickaweb you will need to contact your domain name registrar & ask them for advice. Usually you will have a domain name management area similar to Pickaweb´s but if not, just contact your domain registrar´s support team & they will be able to assist you.
When you have have made your Nameserver changes you can verify this at https://www.pickaweb.co.uk/cgi-bin/whois.cgi - these changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate fully across the internet. During this time, if you are currently using a hosting service for your domain it is likely that you will experience some anomolous behaviour, particularly related to email. For this reason we strongly recommend making thess changes during the evening, or ideally over the weekend or during quiet periods when you do not anticipate high volumes of visitors and/or emails.

A domain name can be up to 63 characters (letters, numbers or combination) long plus the characters used to identify the domain extension (.com, .net, .org). The only symbol character domain names can include is a hyphen (-) although the domain name cannot start or end with a hyphen nor have consecutive hyphens. Symbols such as asterisks (*), under scores (_), and exclamation points (!) are not permitted.
If you are unsure you can search for your new domain name at https://www.pickaweb.co.uk/billing/order/orderwiz.php

If a Domain Name is already registered, a WhoIs search will give you the details of whom it is registered to. If it is not registered no details will come up this it is an available registration. The Pickaweb Whois can be found at https://www.pickaweb.co.uk/cgi-bin/whois.cgi
If you are concerned about privacy & you do not wish to have your details published on the whois then it is possible to hide your details. With UK domain names (eg: .co.uk, .org.uk) you can select the confidentiality option via the Pickaweb Domain Name Management Area at https://www.pickaweb.co.uk/cgi-bin/manage.cgi
With US Domain names (eg. .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info) it is possible to order a Whois Privacy service. This costs £4.99 per domain name per year. This can be ordered at http://www.pickaweb.co.uk/addons2/select-form.htm
The Whois search will also show you some very useful information such as the Nameservers of the domain. Basically this helps you to identify which physical server your domain is hosted by. If you need to make changes to your domain name you can do this via the Pickaweb Domain Name Management Area at https://www.pickaweb.co.uk/cgi-bin/manage.cgi

Domain registry databases can take between 24-48 hours to be updated so even though your domain has been processed it may still show up on the WHOIS search as available.
